What the quatrains attributed to Nostradamus for 2026 say, and how can they be read in a contemporary context?

Michel de Nostredame, known as Nostradamus, began circulating his cryptic quatrains in his forties, and even today there are those who search for signs about the future. In this realm of interpretation, the supposed predictions for 2026 reopen debates.

The main predictions about Nostradamus for 2026

Several stanzas contain the warning that β€œthe great man will be struck down by lightning in a day.” This is interpreted as an assassination or accident, although it also allows for technological metaphors (energy weapons).

Another verse points to β€œpestilence in Tuscany,” which could allude to human outbreaks or the Toscana virus, transmitted by sandflies.

In turn, the mention of Ticino, β€œTicino will overflow with blood,” evokes conflict. This Italian-speaking Swiss canton has historically been neutral, but the image suggests a violent collapse, ranging from armed clashes to humanitarian crises that overwhelm resources and public order.

Likewise, one stanza evokes entomological fears, mentioning that β€œa great multitude of bees will rise up, so that they will not know where they came from.”

This verse can be interpreted as either a beekeeping recovery or the arrival of invasive species, such as giant hornets that devastate hives and pose risks to people, given that climate change facilitates these migrations.
